The software is older than the company
Secure 2 Fiber GmbH was founded in Lünen in 2024. The firewall software we develop under the name AIMdefense has existed since 2002. Both are true. We are a young company that took over an established product and continues to build on it. The team brings more than 20 years of experience in B2B distribution of network hardware and cybersecurity. If you run an ICM firewall today, AIMdefense is its successor.
One interface for the whole estate
Many firewall vendors manage only their own devices. Anyone running a mixed estate needs several consoles and several logins for that. Through the AIM platform you see your AIMdefense instances alongside OPNsense, pfSense and other third-party systems in a single interface. Existing tools such as Zabbix, i-doit or baramundi are connected rather than replaced. The reason lies in where we come from. Our roots are in vendor-independent distribution.
One contact instead of three
AIMdefense is software. It still needs something to run on. The software is developed in Germany and the AIMSTRONG appliances are assembled in Germany. Questions about software, hardware and support all arrive at the same place. The hardware line is built in performance classes from XS to XXL, and we source the chassis from more than one supplier. So you are not tied to a single model.
Your system house stays your contact
Our sales run 100 percent through partners. These are system houses, managed service providers and resellers. We have no direct sales and we are not planning any. This is not a transitional phase, it is the business model. Your system house remains your contracting party. The partner programme has five levels, from Authorized Reseller to Certified Distributor.
We also say what is not finished yet
No product makes a company compliant. AIMdefense and the AIM platform support you in providing evidence, by documenting configurations, changes and states in a traceable way. Implementation remains your task, and we say so openly. Across the AIM family we support more than 170 environments, including over 20 hospitals. We handle our own roadmap the same way. Central rollout of firewall rules through the AIM platform is currently in testing, so we do not advertise it as a finished feature.
