Before you start
Sizing
We work out with you which size class fits your network, and whether AIMdefense should run on AIMSTRONG hardware or as a virtual appliance. The basis is throughput, the number of sites, your VPN requirements and whether you need a high-availability pair. Both routes are described under Deployment.
Evaluation unit
You get a system to try out before you decide. That way you see how the firewall behaves in your own network, instead of relying on a data sheet.
Migration
If you are coming from an existing firewall, you do not have to start from scratch. For the move from the ICM firewall there is a documented route with system migration. The details are under ICM migration.
In operation
Support packages
Four levels, graded by ticket allowance and response time. Basic with three tickets and next business day response. Regular with five tickets and eight hours. Advanced with ten tickets and four hours. Elite without a ticket limit, around the clock, with a two hour response time.
Software subscription
One subscription over one, three or five years instead of a stack of individual licences. Security updates arrive weekly, larger version steps twice a year. We settle the commercials in the quotation, there are no public prices for AIMdefense.
Advanced replacement
If you take the hardware route via AIMSTRONG, you can add advance replacement for faulty units, for up to five years. The replacement is on its way before the faulty unit goes back.
Central management
The AIM platform shows your firewalls in one place, together with the rest of your infrastructure. New units register themselves through zero touch self registration. More on aim4it.info.

Guides
Installation, system migration and initial setup are documented as guides, in German and English. You find them under Docs & Downloads.
Operation
The web interface is deliberately lean and available in 16 system languages. That keeps the training effort manageable. The Features page shows what sits behind it.
Evidence
Reporting and logging run in real time. That supports you in demonstrating to auditors what has happened in your network.
